Training a cat to litter

Just like teaching a child, a kitten too has to be taught to litter. The first thing that you will need is patience. A kitten takes more time to learn to litter than learning other behaviors. A kitty litter and a litter box can be used for this purpose. But your kitten cannot be made to get used to using the litter box quickly. In addition, your cat does not know the usage of the litter box initially even after using it for a few days. Therefore, it needs a lot of patience to teach your cat to sit on it and train it to use it.

A very important quality of the cat is that it uses the litter box only if it is cleaned properly and is without any foul smell. Since cats have a very strong smelling power they do not even get near the litter box if they are unclean. In addition, the litter boxes should be kept in an isolated place in the house. The idea is to give privacy for the cats to use its bathroom.

Buying a litter box in plastic materials would be advisable because plastics do not let the smell out of them after use. Plastics boxes are also cheaper than the other boxes and easy to clean. After long usage of a litter box, they should be replaced with a new one, which is similar to the old one in its color and appearance. Cleaning a litter box is another important job. Soapy water made from a good soap must be used to clean the litter box. They should be dried well in the sun until both the odor of litter and the scent of the soap is removed. Finally, clean the box with a little ammonia water so that it easily absorbs the cat’s smell.
